Summary: Patrolman Thomas J. Healy was shot and mortally wounded during an armed robbery.

Patrolman Healy was approached by a citizen who offered to take him to a disorderly house. Officer Healy agreed, recognizing an opportunity to raid the house. Upon arrival at a secluded area, the citizen produced a revolver and announced a robbery.

Officer Healy and the gunman then exchanged shots, both were mortally wounded. Patrolman Healy was taken to a hospital where he died five days later.

Patrolman Healy served with the Chicago Police Department for 3 years. He is survived by his parents, two sisters and three brother.
