Bio: Thunder, the loving son of Gina Jacobs Locklear and Alexis Locklear was born in Laurinburg, N.C. He was an all around good man who was the center of his family with three older sisters and three younger sisters. He graduated from Purnell Swett High School and the Robeson County Community College Basic Law Enforcement Training.

He was sworn in with the Scotland County Sheriff's Office on May 16, 2017, assigned to the Patrol Division, Shift C, where he courageously served and protected the people of Scotland County until his death.

Thunder attended the Saddletree Church of God in Lumberton. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing video games, basketball and studying astronomy. He was a talented artist and musician who enjoyed traveling to the beach, camping and bonfires.

Known, loved and respected by many, Thunder made an impression on all he encountered and he will forever be remembered for his courage and sacrifice.

Summary: Deputy Sheriff Alexis Locklear was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Old Wire Road, near Arch Mclean Road in Wagram, just after 7:00 pm.

He was responding to assist another officer who was involved in vehicle pursuit when his vehicle left the road into a wooded area.
