Bio: Ryan was a shining star. Love, light and a zest for life emanated from his core, and his presence was a source of great pride and joy to all who knew him. He blessed the lives of so many and his passing has left a deep void. Our loss is heaven's gain.
Ryan was a gifted scholar-athlete. His talent and physical prowess became apparent at an early age as he embraced and excelled at multiple sports including gymnastics, basketball, soccer, baseball, and football. His physical skills were only surpassed by his leadership, infectious positivity, and sportsmanship which manifested in his roles as team captain in all three varsity sports he participated in at his beloved San Marin High School. He was a 2011 graduate of San Marin High School in Novato, where he was a standout athlete.
Ryan went on to play baseball at Butte College and graduated from California State University, Chico in 2015. Always compelled to serve his community, Ryan frequently volunteered his time to coach basketball and baseball at San Marin and worked summers for the Novato Parks and Recreation Department. He loved working with the youth and sharing his enthusiasm for athletics with them.
Inspired by the proud tradition of law enforcement in his family, Ryan answered the call to serve by joining the Marin County Sheriff's Department in 2015. He graduated from the Academy in 2016. He showed great promise and was considered by the Sheriff to be part of the Department's future.
Ryan's greatest achievements in his short life were the deep connections he established and nurtured with his loved ones. |
