Bio: Malcus Williams II was born in Eugene, OR to Mary and Malcus Williams.

Growing up the only boy in a family with three sisters prepared him well for a life of raising three daughters. He could brush and style their hair, was the personal shopper for the family, and reports confirm he never left the toilet seat up. After five years with Joseph Winans Furniture, Malcus also had a good eye for design and decorating. His hobbies were all things Star Trek and building speakers. He was a gentle man with a commanding presence.

Malcus graduated from Willamette High School in 1985 where he was a standout football player. He went on to play football for Southern Oregon State College, where he met his wife, Ona. They had a mutual passion for football. Malcus loved the Tennessee Titans. Malcus and Ona were married in 1990 at Lighthouse Temple in Eugene, Ore.

Fatherhood and serving his community were always intertwined from the start. Malcus became a reserve officer in 1994 shortly after his first daughter, Savannah was born. In 1996 in the midst of the Ashland flood, he was sworn in as a full-time Ashland Police Officer and welcomed the birth of his second daughter, Georgia.

After the birth of his third daughter, Brooklyn, Malcus insisted on completing his degree at Southern Oregon University. In 2008, as a full-time officer and student, Malcus earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice.

Malcus was always willing to step in where needed. He served the Ashland Police Department as a School Resource Officer, Firearms Instructor, Central Area Patrol Officer, Sergeant, and Citizen's Academy Diversity Instructor. He was also an active member of the community. Malcus DJ'd the Ashland Middle School graduation dances for the past 15 years. He was also the head coach for the AMS 8th-grade football team for many years. He coached YMCA girls basketball, Little League softball and ASA softball. Coaching a group of girls from tee ball through seventh grade, he led them to the 12U ASA state championship.

As a dedicated family man, Malcus never missed his daughters' softball games, basketball games, volleyball games, cross country races, talent shows, battle of the bands, choir concerts, or theatre productions (though he may have dozed off once or twice!) If it was his kids' passion, it was his passion. Malcus gave 400% to this life. 100% to his wife, 100% to his children, 100% to his career, and 100% to his community. He was a husband, father, brother, son, officer, mentor, teacher, coach, DJ, and friend who will be missed by many. To Malcus there were no strangers, only friends he hadn't met yet. Whether you were at the gas station, grocery store, or he was the DJ at your wedding, you may not have known him before but soon you knew him as a friend.

Survived by:
Ona - Wife
Savannah, Georgia, and Brooklyn - Daughter
