Bio: William 'Bill' Jeffrey was born to John 'Jack' Jeffrey and Patricia Ann Moquin in Montclair, New Jersey. After graduating from Spring High School in 1985, he went on to study criminal justice at Sam Houston University.
After graduation, he served with the United States Navy before joining the Houston Police Department Academy class #140 in 1990. During his tenure with the department, he was assigned to the North Division as a patrol officer. He joined the South Central Division as a patrol officer and served on the tactical unit before devoting more than 10 years to the Major Offenders Warrant Unit with End of Watch on September 20, 2021.
In 2010, he met his wife, Susanne Marie Reaves, while both were working at the Houston Police Department. They were married on Grand Cayman in 2018.
In his younger years, Bill spent much of his time away from work with Lacie showing longhorns and working around her grandparents’ ranch. One of Bill’s passions was sports, playing both baseball and football throughout his youth including high school and college. Bill loved his time playing for the Houston Gunners football team with his fellow HPD Officers. It was not uncommon to see him on any of the football or baseball fields around town cheering on his friends and family. When he wasn’t on the sidelines, he spent his time hunting, fishing, boating and hanging out with friends. He loved to travel and never missed a trip to Newfound Lake, Keuka Lake, or California to make memories with his family. He was always up for an adventure. Bill would always say he didn’t want to be the center of attention but was always a 'social butterfly' and life of the party. |

Summary: |
Senior Police Officer Bill Jeffrey was shot and killed in the 5300 block of Aeropark Drive at about 7:30 am while serving a warrant in Harris County.
He and other officers had gone to the apartment to serve an arrest warrant as part of a high-level narcotics case. They made contact with a female subject who answered the door. As they spoke to her, the wanted man emerged and opened fire without warning, striking Officer Jeffrey and another officer. Officers were able to return fire and killed the subject.
