Summary:	Officer Mitchel was shot and killed after being dispatched to a disturbance at a local saloon. While dismounting his horse he was shot several times. The suspect was executed on October 25, 1901. Officer Mitchell had been with the agency for 6 months. He was survived by his wife and three children.
