Bio: A native of Hopkinsville, KY, Officer Phillip Meacham was born the son of Gary and Bertha Meacham of Lexington and Lisa Watson Lancaster of Hopkinsville.

He graduated at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, KY in 2005. He previously worked as a detective and K-9 officer with Eros for the Christian County Sheriff's Department. He was currently a police officer for the Hopkinsville Police Department.

Location:   Hopkinsville, KY   USA   Thu. Mar. 29, 2018
Summary: Officer Phillip Meacham was shot and killed while assisting a fellow officer with a suspect on Paulette Court at approximately 5:10 pm.

During the course of the interaction, the man(James DeCoursey) opened fire on Officer Meacham before fleeing on foot. DeCoursey stole a truck nearby and fled to Clarksville, Tennessee, where he was located by local officers and United States Marshals. He was shot and killed as the officers attempted to take him into custody.

Officer Meachem was transported to the hospital, where he passed away from his wounds.
