Detective Sergeant Frank Dealy observed two suspicious men while walking his beat. When Sergeant Dealy approached them, both men drew revolvers and began firing. Sergeant Dealy was struck four times. Officer Dealy was transported to the hospital by concerned citizens where he died four hours later.
Two suspects were held by the coroner Nov 5, 1914 and it is reported that a Grand Jury decision for indictment for Felony Murder was presented but there is no record for the two suspects.
